White Christmas 3

White Christmas

We got inside Joe’s apartment, dropped our suitcases on the floor and went to Joe’s room and we practically fell on the bed.  Joe jr went to his room, played for a little bit and then he crawled in his bed and went to sleep.

About three hours later, Donnie came over with our daughter.  See he gets our daughter every other holiday.  I walked up to Donnie and kissed and hugged him.  “Kasi?” I said, “Is that you? You have gotten so tall and pretty.”  I gave Kasi a hug and she hugged back. Kasi is now this pretty, sweet teenager. She’s 16.   “Mom, You haven’t seen me in two weeks. I haven’t changed that much. So are you going to get back together with dad?”  Kasi asked me.  Donnie told Kasi that he would think about it.  “Dad, I asked mom not you.” Kasi uttered.  “Kasi, Donnie – I need to tell you something.” I told them.   “Joe just proposed to me the day before Chrismas Eve.” I said excitedly.  Donnie motioned for me to go into the other room alone with him.  He said he needed to talk to me.

Donnie shut the door to Joe’s room and wanted to know why I am marrying Joe. “Ok, when we got our marriage annulled, I got pregnant with Joe’s child.” I told Donnie. “Uh… Pamela.” Donnie said, “I think he might be our kid.”  “OMG, Donnie I think your right.” I exclaimed.   “So do you want to break the news to Joe or should I?” Donnie asked with an evil grin.  I smiled at Donnie.  “Pamela, what are you smiling about?” Donnie asked.  “Nothing, sweetie.” I said, “I’m just smiling.   “Well, I don’t know about you but I’m going to tell Joe right now.” Donnie told me.   “Yo Joe! Get in here.” Donnie called, “Pamela and I have to tell you something.”   “Oh Yeah.” Joe said, “What is it?”   “Well, you know Joe jr? He’s not your kid. He’s mine and Pamela’s son.” Donnie said.   Joe looked horrified.  I mean after three years of being a dad to Joe jr, he finds out that he doesn’t have a son with Pamela.  After about a five minute pause, Joe began speaking.  “So you don’t want to marry me now.” Joe said in a hurt voice.   “sweetie, we can get a DNA test done on Joe jr. to find out for sure.”  “Great idea Pamela.” Joe said and Donnie agreed.    Kasi came out of the bathroom and asked what was going on.  “Kasi, you might have a baby brother.”  I told her.   “What mom, your pregnant again?  Is it Joe or Donnie’s baby?” Kasi joked trying to be funny.  “No sweetie, Joe jr might be me and Donnie’s child.”    “Terrific.” Kasi muttered.  “Kasi, aren’t you happy? I asked her.  “Yes. Mom I couldn’t be more happy for you and dad.” Kasi congratulated.

“We are going to get Christmas tree later, Kasi do you want to come with us?”   “Sure.” Kasi said getting excited.  Joe jr came out to see what was going on.  “Hey Joey do you want to come with us to get a Christmas tree?” Donnie asked his son.  “Yes!” Joey said excited.   “Okay. Go get your coats and we’ll meet you downstairs, kids.” Donnie told them.  “Freeze Donnie, don’t move!” Joe said, “I can’t believe you would even try to steel my wife away from me”. Joe said calmly trying not to yell.   “Look Pamela, do you really want to call of the wedding?” Joe asked me.  “humm..” I uttered.  “I thought so.” Joe said with clenched teeth, “Get out!”   “No Joe, that’s not what I’m saying.” I told him.  I told him I wanted to wait for the test results to see if Joe jr was actually Joe’s son.  ‘I know exactly what your thinking’   Joe thought, ‘You want to call of the wedding.’

A few days later, - Donnie and Pamela started to walk downstairs, the mail came and the postman handed a couple of letters to us, and in that stack was the results.  I grabbed the mail up and opened it up.  To our surprise, Joe jr was me and Donnie’s son.  “Okay, should we go tell Joe or wait.”  “Would you mind terribly if we kept this to ourselves for a few days?” I asked Donnie.  “Ya know, eventually we will have to tell him.” Donnie said.   “Tell what and to whom.” Joe said as he raised an eyebrow and he stormed off.  “Joe! Wait.” I called after him.  “Pamela.” Donnie said as he grabbed my arm, “Leave him alone for awhile and let him calm down, okay.”   “Okay.” I said and smiled at Donnie.  Donnie smiled back at me and with that we headed the Christmas tree lot with Kasi and Joe jr.
